Win one of 5 XBOXs!!

Quite a few of you registered for the PASS 2003 Summitt in Seattle using the SSC registration code. We really appreciated the support and decided to use the referral fee that we received from PASS for some nice long sleeve shirts to give to everyone. There were quite a few people that hadn't used the code and were very disappointed last year. Sorry, remember us this year!

Since it was so successful, we decided to try and top last year's event, which was basically shaking our hands at the welcome reception. This year we've been thinking and working on different events and we think you'll all be excited.

After the welcome reception this year, we'll be hosting a coffee break in the Oscela Ballroom where a number of XBOX consoles will be setup for you to relax with a cup of coffee, a pastry, and shoot the bejeezus out of your fellow DBAs. Not sure which games we'll have, but there will be a little variety and it should be a good time.

This event is only open to SQLServerCentral.com members who register for the PASS Summitt with the SSC registration code. Be sure you use this! In your bag at registration you'll receive a copy of the Best of Book, a SQLServerCentral.com polo shirt, and a raffle ticket, which will provide you admission to the event.

At the end of the night, we'll give away five (up from three, hurray!!!) of the XBOXes to random people who attend the event, so be sure to come by. Andy, Brian, and Steve along with Brian Kelley and James Travis (Antares686) will be there to meet you, hear your comments on the site, and have some fun.

And by the way, the entire PASS Summit is packed with lots of sessions about both SQL Server 2000 and the upcoming release of SQL Server 2005. All attendees will get a copy of the latest Beta at the summit as well. It's a fantastic opportunity to hear how real DBAs work with SQL Server, meet those that build the product from Microsoft, and network with your peers. Plus Orlando is a great family getaway spot. Bring the spouse and kids for the weekend!

This year's keynote speakers will be:

  • Bill Baker - A great speaker on the BI work that happens on Microsoft. Definitely don't want to miss him. Bill is always entertaining.
  • David Campbell - The General Manager of the Relational Engine team among other things.

There's also dozens of technical sessions on all types of topics. If you want to learn a bit more in an intimate environment there are also pre-conference sessions on Monday and Tuesday before the conference giving you the chance to learn about SQL Server 2005, Performance and locking from Kimberly Tripp, SQL Server BI from Trey Johnson, and Security in the real world from Ted Malone. If you get the chance, I highly recommend seeing sessions by Euan Garden (What's new for SQL Server 2005 with DTS and Tools)and Amir Netz (The Real Deal with Real-time OLAP in SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services), two of the best speakers I've seen in conference settings.

Register Now for the PASS Community Summit and Save $400

Special Registration Rate Valid through August 31, 2004

Be sure to use the SSC code when you register to get all the goodies mentioned above from us. Orlando is the ideal location to bring the family to while you're receiving the latest information about SQL Server 2000 and at that point Yukon, which should be out of beta 1 at that point. It's important to note that after all the gifts that we include in the registration equate to 100% of our referral fee from PASS. In other words, we don't make money on referring you to PASS.

Instead, it's turned right back around to you. We just strongly believe in the conference and we loved seeing all the SQLServerCentral.com members at the welcome reception!
