Slow in local client but fas in others

  Does someone have the same problem?

  I have a windows 2000 server with Sql Server 2000.

  I have a query that spends 4 minutes when i execute from others servers. But when i execute the query on the local machine, the query spends 30 minutes to execute.

  I don't have ideia how to solucionate thie problem...Does somene Knows???

  Check in your Network Client utility to see what protocol you're using to connect on the slower machine.  If it's TCP/IP be sure the address of the server, not just the name, is in there.  Also, if it says dynamically determine port, uncheck that and put in 1433, assuming that you're using the standard port.  Hope this helps!
