  I am currently auditing all 'non-standard' changes to all SQL2000 services using sp_trace_setstatus. This runs a SQL Profiler trace 24/7 in the background. Unfortunately, this SP does not exist within SQL 7. Has anyone any suggestions as to how I implement a similar strategy against our SQL 7 services? It's for good old SOX!

  They were xp's in SQL 7 see BOL xp_trace_ in the index.
