Network Server Utility

  • I have two clustered SQL Server 2000 boxes. I was using the Server Network Utility to change the port numbers. I changed the first one and it told me that the port number changes were saved but they would not take affect until the SQL service was stopped and restarted. I stopped the service and restarted but the changes never took affect. I opened up the Server Network Utility and the new port number is there but when I click OK it showed the message about the changes not taking affect until the service was stopped.

Please help. I looked on support from Microsoft but there is nothing that resembles this problem.

    Desperately needing help.

  • I would asume it has something to do with the fact that the port is tied to a cluster resource ether network or sql. Check that direction.
