Ok...currently on SQL2K, SP2, but migrating (finally) to SP3a. Quite simply, does SP3a modify/upgrade the user DBs at all?
Should I upgrade at all? The driver for this are the parallelism fixes in SP3a.

It doesn't modify schema as far as I know. There are some security changes, but I think there are some security fixes that may impact your environment.

I will say YES because we got caught by a bug lately and all we had to do was move to sp3a .
