DTS Telnet

    Does anyone have any guidance or caveats on automating a Telnet(Hummingbird) import script. I have both the .ebx and the .ebs available?

    At the moment we have to Telnet to Excel2K then DTS from Excel to SQL2K.

    We would like to just have one scheduled DTS package that connects via Telnet and puts data in appropriate db, after I've done my ActiveX transformations.

    I personally have done nothing with telnet but I believe Hummingbird has a command line interface you cvan call the scripts with. If that is true then you can call using an "Execute Process Task" to run the command line parameters which barring permissions issues should work.
