DTS Buffer Error

  • I'm trying to import an Excel spreadsheet using the DTS wizard and most of the tables import fine. One table has data that apparently exceeds the specified buffer size. I changed the length field within the table, but that hasn't helped the situation. Can somebody direct me to changing the buffer size to allow this data to be imported successfully?

  • Probably one of the rows in the excel sheet exceeds the maximum buffer size. To over come this problem shift all such rows at the top of the excel sheet and try running the DTS import. This should solve the problem.

Refer to microsoft msdn site for detailed explanation.
