Daily Coping 10 Jun 2022

,

I started to add a daily coping tip to the SQLServerCentral newsletter and to the Community Circle, which is helping me deal with the issues in the world. I’m adding my responses for each day here. All my coping tips are under this tag.

Today’s tip is to look for something positive in your world and notice how things are better because of this.

War, high prices for goods, going back to work, there are lots of reasons why someone might look at the world and not be happy.

However, there are lots of good things happening around me. I have kids excited about next year and asking for lessons. I see movement in government to break some deadlocks on issues like gun control in the US. I see exciting sports events and wonderful concerts taking place. Even Top Gun is getting great reviews from friends.

Maybe something I notice that made me think the world is better is how nice people were as I hobbled around the Netherlands and Germany. People gave up seats for me on transport, offered to help with bags, and were deferential in general to someone that was using a cane and in a boot.

Lots of good in the world, especially locally. Less media news, more interacting with people around you is a good plan.
