Sigh...shouldn't — couldn't — someone from SSC edit and vet these articles before they're published? Especially editing? "Dinding" seems to be an obscure term; the mighty dictionary.com didn't have an entry for it. I applaud your desire to share your knowledge and experiences, but I think we can do better.

Dinding, noun: The sound made by the ringing of a bell, calling one to the evening meal. (From the combination of words "din-din" -- slang for dinner -- and "ringing")
