Invalid Buffer Received From Client.

    Here is the situation:

    Using SQL 2000 SP3 advance server.

    Application : Client/Server application.Clients run win2000 SP3 .

    Some clients work fine, some others don't. The error they get is :

    Error17805 Severity 20 State 3. Invalid Buffer Received From Client.

    This error is returned from the database server to the server event logs.

    Does anyone know what it means and what action should I take?

    What does the client do in the process? Do they run a Stored Procedure where this occurrs or is there a text column involved?

    I would check the MDAC levels on the clients. The server will be running 2.7 SP1 but what is the client version?

    I am updating MDAC to ver. 2.7 for clients and monitoring the status. Thanks for your advise.
