Chicago SQL Saturday (#SQLSat211) Is This Weekend

,

Chicago Skyline

The Chicago SQL Saturday is coming up this weekend on Saturday, April 13th.  If you are waiting until the last minute to register to join in on the training, better stop waiting because the last open slots may be filling up.  I’ll be there (with the unicorn somewhere near by) to join with friends to learn about SQL Server and network.  Hopefully, those spending the week at the PASS Business Analytics Conference aren’t too tired by the weekend.  I’m sure, like previous Chicago SQL Saturday’s, this will be another gang-buster event.

Like the previous years, I’ll be presenting again and this time, we’re going to be talking about wait stats.  The session is:

What Are You Waiting For?

You’ve spent the afternoon sweating over your T-SQL query. You’ve wrung out all of the wrinkles. It’s deployed, it’s running… now its waiting. In SQL Server the most performant query can become a problem query if there aren’t any resources in the SQL Server for it to use. In this session, we’ll look at wait statistics and what they are. We’ll look into how they are accumulated and how they can be monitored. By the end of the session, you’ll be equipped with the tools needed to determine if there are resource issues in your environment and methods to start mitigating them.

If you are in the area and looking to enhance your career and expand your knowledge on SQL Server, you should take the day and join us to learn about SQL Server.  The event is free and you can get registered here.
