What do you mean exactly by 'online operation'? What do you categorise as a 'logical operation' and a 'physical operation'?

What I meant that does data physically move when we do switch operation.How switch operation work I wnated to know.can we do it when database is online???;-)

Well, you can't do any operations at all to an offline database, so yes, you can switch with the database online (no other way)
No, the rows are not physically moved.
