Email read receipt option?

    Can anyone tell me if there's a way to set up a read-receipt with scheduled reports delivered via email?

    Hey,

    Not sure this will be much help to you..but..

    There's no way to do this out the box I'm afraid. Assuming I have your intentions right, here is how I'd do it.

    Ok so you're sending reports and you want to know if the recipients are actually reading them or checking them. I'd make sure I was only sending the link to the report in Report Manager. Then set up a report to check the ExecutionLog table in ReportServer. This will let me see if/when specific users accessed each report. You could probably set up a data driven subscription to yourself on this or just a regular subscription. Make sense?

    I'm not sure of any other way to do it without introducing further manual steps;

    ie. Send reports to mailbox/yourself & forward from there, including the read receipt option.

    PS. Let me know if you find a better way as youve raised a good point here.

    Good idea on the Execution Log table. I might try that out. Data Driven subscriptions are somewhat of a mystery to me, despite having identified a few areas where they would be very helpful. I can get the first part of your suggestion done, but do you have any recommendations for good sites that describe how to set up data driven subscriptions? I haven't had much luck finding anything that helps. It would be most helpful.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I'm hoping this will at least give us some indications of receipt.
