Database --- Gone Suspect Mode

  • Hi All,

While working on something , platform /windows team has un-mounted 5 drives ( which were containing the secondary data files for one of my database ), without taking the database to offline state .

Now , the database has gone to suspect mode and we cant perform any operations on it .

Is it something we can do now providing we dont have any backups for that particular database ?

    Thanks in advance .

  • Restore from backup.

    Oh, wait...

Short answer, you're probably screwed. To be sure, check the SQL error logs and post ALL the messages that relate to that DB. Need to know exactly why SQL marked that database as suspect.

    DO NOT detach.

    DO NOT restart SQL

DO NOT try any other repair 'techniques' that you may find or people may post here until the reason for the suspect state is known

  • Actually, ignore most of that for now. Can the windows team re-mount those drives? Or are they gone for good?
