"Slice and Dice" a cube simply expresses what a business user can do with the data that is available, not a formal development process that is done with the cube. The ability to bring in different dimensions, drill down, etc that allows you to look at the data from various perspectives is slicing and dicing. It's a cooking reference, and the kind of thing you might do to an onion, at the end of which it's in a lot of little pieces.
