out of syn issue in logshipping 2005

    Hi All,

    My Primary database size is of 2 TB.

    It took around 3 days to restore primary database full backup on secondary database. On primary database Tlog backup runs at every 15 min.

    After initiating the logshipping the backup job and copy job are running fine. But the restore job is in out of syn.(now the database in out syn for more than 4days) and it slowly restoring the Tlog.

    Can we take differential backup of primary and restore it on secondary (restoring mode) by disabling all the jobs.

    Please help me in solving this out of syn issue.

    It's taking more time to restore Tlog backups on secondary db,hence, it's still not in synchronization.

    as long as the differential backup taken from the primary is in sync with the full backup which initialised the secondary you should be ok. if you have done another full of the primary after the initialisation then the diff wont be in sync and you will have to either wait for logshipping to catch up or reinitialise it from scratch
