  • please give the steps how to upgrade from SQL 2000 to 2005 and from SQL 2000 to 2008 please provide all the details if possible to migrate from all platforms.

  • Start by reading:

    Or:

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

  • All steps for both:

    1) Get budgetting from Finance for a contractor

    2) Get with HR to get a competent contractor

    3) Let the contractor do it

    4) Pay the contractor

    5) Go out to your favorite bar to celebrate your successful upgrade

Honestly, the upgrade process isn't something that can be gone over in detail in a forum post. There's a lot to it. Settings, compatibility, testing, code modifications, maintenance planning, etc., are all actions that have dozens or hundreds of details to pay attention to, and the details are different for different set ups and different business needs.
