O/S: Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
SSRS: 2008 R2
All-
Another newbie here, so please bear with me. I've tried to log into SSRS with both IE (both 32-bit and 64-bit) and Safari. I've tried running IE as an administrator. When I try to navigate to http://localhost/reports, I get the following response:
User 'Lynx\Doug' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.
When I try to navigate to http://localhost/reportserver, I get this response:
The permissions granted to user 'Lynx\Doug' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)
If I log into SSMS using Windows Authentication, I can see my installation but a lot of the menu options are disabled. If I run SSMS as an administrator, those options aren't disabled, but I don't see a way to add myself as a user. I've also tried Basic Authentication and Forms Authentication too, but I don't remember the credentials or these options are disabled.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

A few questions about your setup first.
Is the reporting server on a seperate machine?
Is the reporting server in a different domain?
Are you a local administrator on the reporting server?

First, thanks for responding.
This is all installed on my laptop (named LYNX), SQL and SSRS, so no domain. Yes, my login account is in the machine's Administrators group.

start IE as admin like you've done. Add the report server url to your trusted sites tools -> options -> content -> trusted sites -> sites. Add http://localhost* and uncheck the require certificate box.
Close IE and reopen as admin again. Give that a go and let me know what happens.

I had already tried that, but I double-checked (and tried it again just now), but no luck. I am getting the same errors.
This is really puzzling, isn't it?

And you're not able to see the report site at all?You've checked your UAC settings?
Turning off UAC fixed it, though I don't understand why that would matter. Do you know? Even if you don't, thanks very much!
