Hi Folks,
I fought with this particular issue until about 3am this morning. I probably should have reached out for help earlier, but here goes...
In BIDS 2008 I am developing a seemingly simple "form letter" report - that is to say, no summary ,etc...
Traditionally I begin by placing a "list" object on the page which is linked to my main dataset and then place data fields within that list - no problem.
However, as I move objects around the page and "forward" and "back" in order and add different lists, etc... some of the text boxes loose their parent of "RectangleX" or whatever list it was in.
My question is... How do I change the "parent" of a specific textbox from "Body" to a list "rectanglex"?
I have tried sending the list to back, bringing the textbox forward, to front, etc... but nothing seems to change the parent.
Please advise.

The cells you move fall behind the list. So they're parent becomes the body and not the list. Just drag the cells onto the list.
Bringing items forward or backwards won't change the hierarchy of the objects.
Good way to check if an object is behind the list is to select the list, and then try to select the object. If you can NOT select the object, that is because it's behind the list and not inside it.
