Greetings all.
So my company has purchased a new server with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise. Currently our Data Warehouse exists on a SQL Server 2005 Standard Server. I have been tasked with migrating everything over to the new server.
For the databases I simply backed them up and restored them to the new server and changed their properties to be 2008 Databases which, so far everything works great (and a little faster too!).
For the SSIS however I am having some issues. When I open the .sln file I get the upgrade wizard, which I follow the prompts and upgrade my packages. That works fine...I have to update a few connections here and there but otherwise it is good to go. I save everything and close it out to work on other things. I came back to it today and opened it and I get the upgrade wizard again. Turns out every time I open this up it asks me. I figured I may be opening the wrong file...so after a bit of research I found I have opening the right file to get into the solution and for some reason the changes are not sticking. What am I doing wrong here?
Also, is there anything else in this type of upgrade I should be aware of?

let me be honest, I have never done upgrading SSIS package from 2005 to 2008 but this website might point you to the right direction.

Anytime you upgrade SQL Solutions (RS, SSIS, OLAP) it creates a totally new directory with all the upgraded files in it. Your original solution from the previous version should still be there. Look at the number on the solution icon. Does it say 8 or 9? Its sounds like your opening up your original and not the upgraded files.
8 = SQL 2005
9 = SQL 2008.

I dont have experience in this.
But in business inteligence tool direly one option is there na .....
Go to that perticular packages:right click
Migrate 2000 or 2005 dts packages...
