I am trying to install SP3 using unattended scrips on named instances of SQL2005. SP3 stops the services, install the software and tries to re-start the services, but fails with logon failure.
Even if i try to manually restart the services, it shows Error 1069 Logon failure.
Does SP3 tamper the password ?
Has anyone encountered the same scenario. Or am i missing out anything.

Can you provide us with more details, like the complete error message.

the password isn't changed, but the SP might start things up in single user mode. If you have something that connects before the SP setup routine, a logon error will occur.
