I created 2 disk dump devices for a large database and backup the database to both devices. The 2 files are later backed up to a tape and then deleted from the disk.
Is it possible to restore the database from the tape directly to a new database? Please help by supplying me the script.

You can if the tape device is attached to the server. Not sure of scripting this. I think you would need to use the GUI to attach and read from the tape device.
What version of SQL?

Sorry, but I don't believe you can since the backups are file iamge backups and not direct to tape backups. You have to restore the file to a drive then restore.
