Hundreds of processes in Activity Monitor

  We are running SQL Server 2005 and have a problem with hundreds of processes running in activity monitor. I was wondering if this was normal and if not what the issues could be and also if anyone knows the solution.

  If you are looking "Process info" it is total connections (active and inactive) to sql server.

  You may see >1000 connections also if your system is highly active OLTP server.

  It all depends on what type of connection and who is connecting ot is.

  Some time you may see throusands of connections when your application is not closing the connections and spinning everytime a new connection..
