Job failure!!

    I got the following error below after changing sql server service account on a sql server running analysis services.

    Executed as user: DOMAIN\SQLServiceAccount. ...un OnStart: DTSStep_DTSActiveScriptTask_1 DTSRun OnError: DTSStep_DTSActiveScriptTask_1, Error = -2147220482 (800403FE) Error string: Error Code: 0 Error Source= DSO Error Description: Cannot connect to the Analysis server on computer 'SQL 2000'. Connection to the server is lost Error on Line 17 Error source: Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package Help file: sqldts80.hlp Help context: 4500 Error Detail Records: Error: -2147220482 (800403FE); Provider Error: 0 (0) Error string: Error Code: 0 Error Source= DSO Error Description: Cannot connect to the Analysis server on computer 'SQL 2000'.   • Does the DOMAIN\SQLServerAccount have the same permissions as the previous account did within Analysis Services?

  • Yes it does and it also belongs to olap admin. group

  • one more thing i noticed is the 1st step of the job (loading) succeeds and the user that owns the dts package belongs to domain A but the 2nd step (Process) fails because it tries to connect to analysis server and the user that owns the dts package belongs to domain b.

  • I've not heard of any cross domain issues like that with AS. If you log on as the Domain\SQLServerAccount are you able to establish a connection to AS manually?

  • Yes I'm able to connect to AS with the SQL Service acct. apparently SQL Server has not been restarted since the account change and its now working since a reboot of the server was done. Thanks all
