Restarting Issues

  • I stopped a SQL Server and on trying to Connect to the Server, it gave me a error that the server does not exist error. I rebooted the server which did not help either. Now when I try to register the server again in Enterprise Manager it does not authenticate the user and gives me the same error logon failure or server does not exist. Any suggestions.

  • Which server is this, the local or the remote server. If remote server try to add in the client network utility and try to register.

  • The network client utility is enabled. It gives me a 1069 error when i try to register.

  • Needed to change the password from the Services Undet Admin Tools and things are bright and sunny again.

    Thanx anyways.

  • Is this happening on all the machines or only on few.

Double check the userid and password you are tring to register is proper or not.

  • Is the server running?

Has the password of the SQL Server service account been changed and thus the server cannot start because it has the wrong password?
