Hi folks,
A good week back I finally took my 70-448 exam... and failed! I took a retest the same week of which I felt really good about but failed again.... I am a bit at my wits end on how to properly prepare myself for the next retake...
I have spend litteraly hundreds of hours preparing. The self paced training kit has been my starting point and I have done that twice. Each module I have then studied in more depth with several other books and ton of practices. Of course I have taken the measure up practices with the SPTK and passed those. I also have about 8 years of daily experience in developing with SQL 2000-2012. Mainly datawarehousing and SSIS but also my fair share of SSAS and SSRS.
And still I fail. After doing two exams (and the practice tests) I noticed that where the majority of the official book (and most other books) focusses on development, the exams focus on deployment and maintenance a lot. So I prepared that aspects even more like commandline utils, configurations, security etc. I have also read as much as I could find on this and other forums and blogs about this exam.
I intend to doe another retake on the 18th. Does any of you have some good hints on how to prepare better so I might pass it this time?

Hi vand.erik,
I passed my exam in first attempt reading the self prep book and practicing the exercises in the book.
Additionally I am a big fan of nugget sessions. I use 24 hrs subscription on http://www.cbtnuggets.com/ to revise and make notes before each exam. The entire exam training session is around 7 hrs, broken down in parts of 20 to 40 mins sessions each. Try this you might make it through.

Yes! Finally passed it today! After a weekend full of "nuggets" and lots of practice questions from Kaplan I finally passed it. 😀
So now I can fully focus on MCSA SQL Server 2012...
