Cube monitoring by sending a daily mail with subset of data

    I need to be sure our cube has been processed over night, and was thinking to let SQL Server send me a daily mail with a small subset of data, f.i. the daily turnover from the last week, so that I can see right away if the new data is available. How can I do this the easiest? Currently we're not using SSRS, so I was hoping to accomplish this by defining a KPI or Action in SSAS, but I'm not really familiar with SSAS..

    Rather than send data, just set up your own front end with key metrics. If something is really wrong, my emails would show it. Otherwise I have an excel spreadsheet with several tabs that show the different cubes. Larger cubes have more than one example that use different dimensions. I do a refresh and then go through the tabs, ensuring that nothing is amiss.
