There were errors while the package was being loaded

    Hi,

    I have got a zipped file which contains few packages from my team member.

    But while I am opening that package I am getting error saying that "There were errors while the package was being loaded.

    The package might be corrupted.

    See the Error List for details.

    "

    error details are like this

    "Error loading package- DataExtraction.dtsx: failed to decrypt protected XML node "DTS:password" with error 0x800700D "The data is invalid". You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error.Verify that the correct key is available."

    like this several errors are coming when I open each package.

    Could someone tell me how to resolve this.

    Most lilkely, the team member saved the packages with the default protection level EncryptAllWithPassword so nobody can open the packages exept that user. Have him or her save the packages with protection level set to EncryptAllWithPassword or EncryptSensitiveWithPassword and give you the password.

    Hi Greg,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I know the password that he has give. Is there any way I can give the password or do I need to ask him to save it each package with the "EncryptSensitiveWithPassword" only.

    If he had saved the packages with one of the protection levels I mentioned, you'd be prompted for the password when you open the package. To be sure, maybe you should ask him to save one of the packages with EncryptSensitiveWithPassword and then you could try to open it with the password.
