SQL2K5 on Windows 7

  • Hello,

I have gone through a number of times installing SQL with no issues on Vista attempting to install on Windows 7 I continue to recieve the following error:

    In the configuration check:

SQL Server Edition Operation system Compatibility Warning

Some components of this edition of SQL Server are not supported on this operating system. For details, see 'Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2005' in Microsoft SQL Server Books Online.

I am not sure what is causing this issue if it's some type of UAC setting that I am unable to find.

I thought it was just 64 bit issues I reinstalled windows 32bit and continue to get the same issues.

SQL 2008 installs fine with no issues at all?

Any help would be greatly appreceated.

There several problems I need to explain you must be running Windows 7 Ultimate, Business or Enterprise II 7.5 installed and configured that is Windows authentication is added and enabled inside IIS, make sure IIS is configured to run in IIS 6 compatibility mode. All these are in control panel programs Turn on Off Windows features. Then you also need to install VS2005 SP1 for Vista because VS2005 which is BIDs is not compatible with Windows 7 that is the reason for the error. I just installed, the biggest problem was IIS configuration because without 6 compatibility SSRS will not be installed that took more than 30 minutes to get right. Post again if you still need help.
