Is there any ppl knows that which service pack contains hotfix Bug #: 50000895 (SQL Hotfix).
Or did someone apply this hotfix before? Any impact on the server?
Thanks in advance.

never installed the hotfix, but i found this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934396
Note The file version of the Sqlvdi.dll file in this hotfix is 2000.85.2102.0. The file version of the Sqlvdi.dll file in hotfix 935465 is 2000.85.2101.0. However, these files are the same. The file in hotfix 935465 is designed for SQL Server 2000. The file in this hotfix is designed for SQL Server 2005 backward-compatibility components. This issue is resolved in the update for the backward compatibility component of SQL Server 2005 (SQLServer2005_BC.msi). The name of the update is SQLCompat2005_SP2_Hotfix_2102.
Important Cumulative update packages for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2) do not contain updates for the backward compatibility component of SQL Server 2005. Even if the version of the Sqlvdi.dll file in Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2005 SP2 or later versions is higher than 2000.85.2102.0, this hotfix is not contained in cumulative update packages for SQL Server 2005 SP2.
so it looks like it is NOT in SP2, but may be in SP3?

Hi there I too have the same error with SQL 2005 while using VERITAS NetBackup
' Error messages and an event may be logged when you use the Virtual Device Interface in SQL Server 2005'
QLVDI: Loc=TriggerAbort. Desc=invoked. ErrorCode=(0). Process=2284. Thread=2116. Server. Instance=MSSQLSERVER. VD=Global\VNBU0-4648-3260-1239174181_SQLVDIMemoryName_0.
I've seen the hotfix link, but we are running SQL 2005 with SP3, but the hotfix is a SP2 fix ?? Does this hotfix need to be applied even though I'm running SP3 ??

If the build for this Hot fix is below that of SP3, and I believe it is, then this would be in SP3. However I might make a call to MS and be sure. There could be an issue with the build tree for one-off hot fixes.
