SQL 2005 SP2 - ANSI NULL Default ON

  • Has anybody else encoutered a change in behavior with SP2 and its Hotfix changing the default for the Server Setting 'ANSI NULL Default ON'?

On our QA server, after a database restore for testing purposes, the default was causing temp tables to be created with not allowing NULLs and before SP2, the restores were not doing this.

Of course best practice would be to specify the Null when creating a table, temp table, etc. But trying to manage previous buit app.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  • Temp tables are actually created in TempDB. which gets generated from Model every time SQL Server is restarted. Since this is a database level setting, have you checked both TempDB and Model to see what their settings are?
