Conditional Logic in SSIS based on a Status

    Before running the SSIS package I want to verify the last run status if false I do want to generate an alert and abort. I tried using the execute sql task expressions but it does not work. Its a simple task but I am not sure what is the best way to do this. Any help is appreciated.

    What I do is create a sql task that contains a query that returns 1 or 0 based on the condition I want to test for.  Store the result of that query in a variable, then use the "expression and constraint" connection referencing the variable as the expression.  You get to the "expression and constraint" part by editing the connection.
