Can't install service pack, instance grayed out

    I have a development pc with 2005 developer and 2008R2 developer editions installed. I wanted to install SP4 but the instance checkbox is grayed out so I can't install it. Is this because I have 2008R2 installed and therefore the upgrade is not allowed?

    when you connect to 2005 and run SELECT @@Version, what do you get?

    Also running the right CPU edition of the service pack for the CPU of your server?

    I am running version 9.00.4053.00 which should be SP3 with a security update.

    Yes I am running windows 7 x64 and tried to run SQLServer2005SP4-KB2463332-x64-ENU

    Windows might be 64bit but is SQL 64bit?
